Jaurim makes their New York City debut at The Town Hall with their first concert in the United States in over 20 years!
The South Korean rock band debuted in 1997, consisting of 3 members with guitarist Lee Sun-kyu, vocalist Kim Yuna and bassist Kim Jin-man. The country’s most enduring co-ed band has consistently headlined rock festivals and has received honors such as the Prime Minister’s commendation as well as a host of industry awards including the Inspiring Achievement Award at the 2022 MAMA Award ceremony.
Since the debut of their hit song "Hey Hey Hey", Jaurim has released a total of 11 studio albums, each amassing at least two high-charting hits. Their most successful and influential track to date is "Twenty-Five, Twenty-One" from their ninth studio album Goodbye, grief (2013). The globally popular K-drama Twenty-Five, Twenty-One (2022), was inspired by and uses Jaurim's song of the same title.
To commemorate the band's 25th debut anniversary in 2022, Jaurim released the album Happy 25th JAURIM, featuring newly recorded versions of their major hits. In 2023, they produced a documentary titled "JAURIM, the wonderland" as part of their 25th-anniversary activities. The documentary was presented at the Jeonju International Film Festival in 2023 and received praise from both audiences and critics alike. It was screened in the local theaters, competing with Hollywood and local commercial films, achieving significant success at the box office.
Jaurim has appeared in television commercials for Pepsi, Pringles, and Samsung in South Korea. While they are considered living legends in the South Korean music scene, but are still gathering young music lovers as their core fans.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to a mission dear to Kim Yuna, Save The Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing lifesaving relief to children. https://www.savethechildren.org
