◆ SYNOPSIS 

Jung Hee-kyung, a soprano devoted to the life of an artist, takes the stage to perform some of the most iconic works from Maria Callas’ repertoire—from Tosca to Lucia di Lammermoor. As she waits backstage, her makeup complete, she reflects on her lifelong journey as a singer.

Through intimate storytelling, she shares the pivotal moments that shaped her artistry—the first time she sang, the emotions that stirred within her, and the transformative years she spent studying abroad. In these reflections, she forges a deep connection with her audience, offering a rare glimpse into the heart and soul of a vocalist who has embraced her destiny.

◆ SOPRANO HEE-KYUNG JUNG

Soprano Jung Hee-kyung is a graduate of Busan Arts High School and Chung-Ang University’s Vocal Music Department. She further honed her craft at the Monopoli Conservatory in Italy before pursuing advanced studies in Germany, earning both a Diploma and a Master’s degree in Opera from Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Her exceptional talent has been recognized through numerous accolades, including 1st place at the Busan Music Association Vocal Competition, 2nd place at the Busan Education Association Competition, and 3rd place at the Kosin University Competition. She has also received awards in several prestigious operetta and vocal competitions.

Jung gained extensive stage experience during her time at Chung-Ang University, performing in events such as German Song Night and Opera Aria Night, as well as starring in major operatic productions. Her repertoire includes roles in Rigoletto, La Traviata, La Bohème, The Marriage of Figaro, Così fan tutte, Tosca, The Beggar's Opera, The Magic Flute, and Don Giovanni. Beyond opera, she has performed as a soloist in concerts and recitals both in Korea and internationally.

She studied under esteemed mentors, including Professors Hyekyung Kang, Roland Hermann, Mario Hoff, and Anja Harteros. Now back in Korea, she is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of vocalists as a faculty member at Chung-Ang University and Andong National University.
