Ahn Trio at the Lincoln Center Out of Doors
Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at Juilliard, the members of the Ahn Trio –sisters Maria, Lucia, and Angela- are breathing new life into the standard piano-trio literature with custom-made works by visionary composers like Kenji Bunch, Maurice Jarre, and Michael Nyman. Recognized for their extraordinary talent and style, the Ahn Trio has long been a regular subject to the international press. They made their initial front page in TIME magazine as “Asian American Whiz Kids”. Since then, they were frequently featured in fashion magazines such as Vogue and GQ. In 2003, they were ranked third in People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People.
This concert is triple-billed, where The East Village Opera Company (a powerhouse of five-piece band, a string quartet, and 2 vocalists) and Argentinean musician Fernando Otero will be featured as well.
Free admission. For a complete schedule of the Lincoln Center Out of Doors, please visit http://www.lincolncenter.org. For more information on Ahn Trio, visit http://www.ahntrio.com
