The Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism proudly presents four amazing pieces of Korea’s vibrant and contemporary performing arts: Soo-jung Chae and the Noreummachi Ensemble (in association with Asia Society), Jang Eun Jung Dance Company (in association with Japan Society), the Sadari Movement Laboratory (in association with the Public Theater).

Sadari Movement Laboratory brings George Buchner’s Woyzeck to NYC, based on the true story of a tormented German soldier. Wooden chairs and Astor Piazzolla’s tango music are used, revealing the character’s emotional stage.

Jang Eun Jung Dance Company creates work that transcends technique and sublimates daily life on stage. Their subtle yet provocative Several Question presents the order of power commonly hidden throughout society.

Noreummachi Ensemble absorbs the thrilling sound of farmer’s music in a display of percussive fireworks. Pansori singer Soo-jung Chae uses powerful voice to tell romantic tragic tales of the past through the soulful epic singing of Pansori.
